The new road section, approximately 1.5 km in length, connected the northern bypass of Nowy Sącz with the existing route of National Road No. 28. The investment significantly improved transit traffic flow and helped relieve congestion in the centre of Chełmiec.

The scope of works included the construction of the GP-class road, two bridges and two viaducts, as well as the redevelopment of intersecting roads. The project also involved the delivery of the technical infrastructure necessary for the investment.

The bypass route runs in the vicinity of the Biczyczanka stream and connects to a roundabout located along the northern bypass of Nowy Sącz, forming an important part of the region’s transport network.

The contracting authority for the project was the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. The main objective of the investment was to divert transit traffic away from the centre of Chełmiec, improve traffic flow, and enhance road safety and user comfort.
